If your video is not at a standard resolution, it may not play on the iOS video player and you'll see a broken video image where the video player should be.

To fix this, you'll need to convert the video to a standard resolution. There are many ways to do this, but here's a simple way we've found using Windows 10's Video Editor program:

  1. If you haven't already, make sure you have a copy of the video you need to convert on your Windows 10 device.
  2. Launch Video Editor.
  3. Click [New video project]
  4. Name your video if desired, and click [OK]. Otherwise, click [Skip].
  5. In the Project Library pane, click [+ Add].
  6. Click [From this PC].
  7. Navigate to the video you prepared in Step #1 and click [Open] or double-click.
  8. Drag the video to the leftmost slot in the Storyboard pane.
  9. Click the [Remove or show black bars] button in the upper-right corner of the Storyboard pane (most likely the 4th button from the right).
  10. Make sure the [Shrink to fit] option is selected
  11. Click the [...] button in the top-right corner of the entire window (should be just under the [X] button).
  12. Set the aspect ratio to the best fit for your video:
    1. 16:9 Landscape
    2. 4:3 Landscape
    3. 9:16 Portrait
    4. 3:4 Portrait
  13. Click [Finish video]
  14. Set the video quality to your desired setting.
  15. Click [Export].
  16. Type in a name for your new video.
  17. Click [Export].
  18. When the video is finished exporting, watch it to make sure everything exported properly.
    1. If you notice any issues with the video you may need to play around with the quality settings and export again.

Once you've confirmed that the new video has no issues, you can upload this video directly into our Admin Tool in place of the old video. You can also upload it to wherever you host publicly available videos and enter the link to it into our Admin Tool. Then, if you're viewing the challenge in our app, you'll just need to force-close and relaunch it to see the change.
