General
- Title: Enter a title.
- Description: Enter a text description explaining the location players must find and check-in with their device.
- (Optional) After Complete: If you'd like to display some text underneath the green Completed checkmark at the bottom of the challenge once the challenge is completed, type it into this box. Unlike the popups that appear after the challenge is completed, text typed in here will always be available for players to view. However, it is more subtle than the popups.

- (Optional) Image URL: If you'd like to display an image, enter the URL of an image that is publicly hosted online or upload your own!
- (Optional) Width to Height Ratio: Enter the aspect ratio of the image. Aspect ratio = image width/image height. For example, a 1024x1024 size image would have an aspect ratio of 1, while a 1024x512 size image would have an aspect ratio of 2, etc.
- (Optional) Completed Image URL: If you'd like to display an image for players to see after they complete the Challenge, enter the URL of an image that is publicly hosted online or upload your own!
- (Optional) Audio URL: If you'd like to include a sound clip, enter the URL of a sound clip that is publicly hosted online or upload your own!
- (Optional) Video URL: If you'd like to include a video, enter the URL of a video that is publicly hosted online or upload your own!
- (Optional) YouTube Video ID: If you'd like to include a YouTube video, enter in its ID. You can get the ID from the video's page by clicking on [Share] -- the ID is everything after the last "/" in the link. For example, for this video: https://youtu.be/fSsP63gBQnI the ID is fSsP63gBQnI.
- Points: Enter the number of points the challenge is worth.
- (Optional) Single try: If you only want players to be able to attempt the challenge once, check the box.
Availability
- Use event start and end dates: By default, the box will be checked. If you would like for this specific challenge not to appear until a certain date and time or to disappear by a certain date and time, you may set a start and end time that's different from the event.
- (Optional) Set Password for Challenge: By default, the box will NOT be checked. If you would like for players to only be able to access this Challenge by entering in a password, check this box.
- If you do check this box, a new field will appear where you can type in your desired password.
Random Pool
- (Optional) Pool name: If you want to create a random pool of challenges, of which only 1 is shown to the player, enter in a name for this pool in the textbox.
- If you want to add another challenge to the same pool as this one, make sure to type in EXACTLY the same Pool name. Take care not to add any extra spaces or punctuation, otherwise our system will likely read it as a separate challenge pool.
- You can have multiple challenge pools! We recommend making the pool names descriptive, i.e. "colors," "shapes," "numbers," instead of "pool1," "pool2," "pool3," so that there is less risk of typing in the wrong Pool name.
Setting up the GPS Check-in
- To set the location where players should check in, you have a few options:
- If you have the exact coordinates*, you can enter them in the Latitude and Longitude fields.
- You may also use the Search for Location bar -- simply type in your desired location and click the correct search result -- doing this will update the Latitude and Longitude fields automatically.
- Lastly, you may also drag the pin on the map to fine-tune the location and get it in exactly the spot you would like. Doing this will also update the Latitude and Longitude fields automatically.
- Enter the maximum distance (in meters) players must be from the coordinates you set in order to check-in with their device. We strongly suggest that you make your "Max. Distance" at least 50 meters from your target. Enter a number equal to 50 or greater in this box.
- For example, if set to 100, then players must be within 100 meters of the set location to check-in.
- The radius will be shown as a circle on the map -- you may need to zoom in closer to the pin to see it.
- (Optional) If you want more variation in players' scores, check the box next to Score by Distance. This will give players full points if they are located exactly at the specified coordinates, 0 points if they are outside the max distance specified in the previous step, and a scaling amount of points for everything in between.
- (Optional) If you don't want the exact location to be shown on the map, check the box next to Hide Target.
Places
- (Optional) Show on the Places map: If you want this challenge to be shown in the [Challenges] --> [Places] tab, check the box.
Messages
- (Optional) Success Message: By default, the message a player will see in a popup upon completing the challenge is set to "Congrats! You've made it to the location!" Feel free to change this message if you would like.
- (Optional) Success Message: By default, the message a player will see in a popup if they have not met the requirements to complete the challenge is set to "Sorry, you're still too far away. Try again later!" Feel free to change this message if you would like.
Challenge Library
- (Optional) Make available in the template library: If you would like this challenge to be available in your private library as a template, check this box.
Saving
- (Optional) Save as a draft: If you only want the Challenge to be visible to admins, check this box.
Click the [SAVE CHANGES] button every once in a while after making changes.
- The details will now update in the Challenges Tab in the event.
* You can get the exact coordinates of a location with the help of Google Maps! Simply search for the correct location in Google Maps's search bar, and the coordinates should appear in the URL! Make sure to double check the pin location in the Admin Tool's map (and move the pin if necessary) after you've entered in those coordinates, since they may be slightly off due to the low granularity.
